What platforms does BlinkID support?

BlinkID is available as an on-device SDK for various platforms, such as iOS, Android, Cross Platform or web, or as a self-hosted API.

How does BlinkID protect personal data and ensure security?

BlinkID processes and extracts the data from identity documents on-device. Microblink has no access to PII data. Meaning that BlinkID is fully compliant with GDPR or any other data protection regulation.

How to implement BlinkID into my app?

What are minimum OS versions that mobile BlinkID SDKs require?

BlinkID requires minimum versions of the following operating systems:

Android 21 or newer

iOS 13 or newer

What happens if a scan fails?

The BlinkID SDK is robust and in cases where all required ID information can't be extracted, incomplete results will be provided without degrading the user experience. In the event that a live video feed is not achievable by the user, the SDK can process uploaded images of the front or front & back of the ID card as a fallback mechanism.

What if BlinkID doesn't support a document I need or a new version of document is released?

Microblink has a document experts team that monitors new document releases and constantly works on adding new document classes. If there is a need for a specific document that BlinkID doesn't support, make a request for supporting the document to your customer success or sales representative. As all of BlinkID components have been developed in-house, Microblink has the option to react to market needs without a bottleneck of external vendors.

What is the BlinkID SDK size?

SDK sizes vary depending on the platform used, however, it's generally ~10 MB compressed.

Can BlinkID be used with facial recognition?

Yes, BlinkID is a great first step in an overall KYC process. Since BlinkID extracts the face photo along with the document data, the photo can be used in a downstream biometric process.
