--- Source: https://docs.microblink.com/platform/capabilities/upload-verify-id Title: Upload & Verify ID Description: Upload and verify authenticity of government-issued identity documents with fraud detection --- # Upload & Verify ID The Upload & Verify ID capability allows users to upload images of government-issued identity documents for verification, as an alternative to live camera capture. Uploaded images are processed using [BlinkID Verify](/verify) for document classification, data extraction, and fraud detection, using the same checks as [Scan & Verify ID](scan-verify-id.md). ## Supported formats Only image files are accepted: JPEG, JPG, and PNG. PDF files aren't supported for identity document uploads. The resolution of the image should be at least **1080p** (1920×1080 px). ## Quality checks Uploaded images are subject to the same quality requirements as live captures. The system validates image clarity, resolution, and cropping. If the image doesn't meet the quality threshold, the user is prompted to upload a new one. ## Configuration ### Document type Specify whether the document to be uploaded is single-sided (for example, a passport data page) or two-sided (for example, a driver's license front and back). ### Verification policy The verification policy controls the overall strictness of fraud detection. It works the same way as in [Scan & Verify ID](/platform/capabilities/scan-verify-id#verification-policy). ## Rules You can configure rules for **age verification** and **document expiry**, as well as whether the verification outcome affects the overall step status. These work the same way as in [Scan & Verify ID](/platform/capabilities/scan-verify-id#rules). Last updated on Apr 16, 2026
