# Recommended outcome retries

### What's new

[Upload & Verify ID](/platform/capabilities/upload-verify-id) and [Scan ID](/platform/capabilities/scan-id) now follow Document Verification's recommended outcome.

When that outcome is `Retry`, the step asks the person to capture the document again.
If Document Verification does not include an error code, the step uses `NotScanned`, which the SDKs already treat as a retry.
