What's new​

Web SDK​

With this version, we're releasing the Verify web SDK.

Install it:

npm install @microblink/blinkid-verify

You can use the Verify web SDK for handling document scanning and recognition in web applications, simplifying the integration with the Verify API.

Verify insights​

We're introducing new, session-based analytics to provide a more granular view of the entire verification journey, rather than only verification outcomes. This will help us give our clients insights into user success, friction points, drop-offs, and a complete funnel analysis. Analytics don't collect or store personal data. The system captures only operational and behavioral events to improve performance and usage.

What's changed​

Expanded use of photocopy detection​

We've adjusted the internal document verification logic to expand the use of our Photocopy Detection machine learning model. This improvement allows photocopy detection to be applied to the back side of ID documents as well, increasing fraud detection coverage while maintaining the same overall verification flow.

Improved verify response structure​

The structure of our API response has been refined to improve clarity and readability of the verification results. This is the first iteration of ongoing improvements aimed at making responses easier to understand in production. This isn't a breaking change: only the order of fields has changed.

Up-to-date document extraction coverage​

Verify is now aligned with the latest data extraction capabilities in BlinkID version 7.7, ensuring that any document supported by BlinkID can also be extracted via Verify. This provides broader document coverage.

Bugfixes​

  • Solved an issue with Washington (2017) and Utah (2021) Driver’s Licenses where we needed to upgrade our barcode processing logic to account for changes on these specific models.
  • Solved an issue with Estonia Driver’s License (2013) affecting validation of the document number. This correction prevents legitimate documents from failing verification due to a validation error.
  • Solved an issue with Sri Lanka Passports that were failing due to a new Doc number format that's now contemplated.
